June 8 – 9
This workshop is for creatives of any stripe (including those not mentioned above – writers, actors, etc) who want to extend their range, explore their edges and discover new forms. There will be a variety of structures for you to experiment in – in groups, with partners and individually. We will use voice, movement and improvisation to stimulate your imagination, and to access new areas of your expression. I offer an inter-disciplinary approach that brings all of you back into play. The plan is to leave feeling refreshed and inspired in your usual practice, ready to try new things.
Get in touch if you want to discuss whether this is right for you and if you would like to come.
Please note: This workshop is for people who have experience in a creative practice and are serious about exploring their voice in relationship to it.

Performances and shows
Lines and Spaces – A solo performance art piece
3pm (duration: 1-1.5 hr.)
Cley 19 Contemporary Arts Festival
St Margaret’s Church
Cley next the Sea
My “composition” is a path plotted out on a music stave of 4 lines, instigating a journey through the various spaces of the church. It is in following the path that I will discover what happens along the way: what the music is, how to move along, where there is rest, and how to expand into the spaces – by extending my voice and being beyond the lines.
The piece will include: voice and movement, singing, chants and poetry. The work will be a response to the building, the space, the moment, the travel between inner and outer being; and to the spiritual potentiality that expands beyond lines into spaces.
Like most pilgrimages, this embodied “musical” journey is one towards enlightenment. What is to be gained is found in the journey itself, and in each moment as it is lived, breathed and developed. The public is invited to promenade with me or witness at any of the stopping points along the way.
